Local Forecast Model output from NWS RIW now available

Local Forecast Model output from NWS RIW is now available on the Internet

The NWS office in Riverton, WY is running a local computer model at high-resolution to provide more detailed forecast guidance to forecasters.  Please see this information page about the model: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/riw/?n=riwwrfinfo

Output from the model is now available in image format on the Internet.  A simple viewer is used to see the images of a variety of output parameters including temperature, wind, humidity, precipitation, and simulated reflectivity (like a radar image).  Images are created for the full model domain and a zoomed in area (which is configurable by NWS RIW staff).  Model forecast soundings (vertical profiles of the atmosphere) are also available for 25 locations across Wyoming.  The images can be viewed at: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/riw/wrf/

A link to the image viewer is now available through the "Additional Info: Items of Interest" link near the bottom of the left-hand menu.
