Snow Data | Past Christmas Data ComparisonContact Us

The NWS office in Riverton hopes that you and your families had a wonderful holiday. We are certain that a lot of people celebrated as flurries started to fall across central Wyoming during the evening of Christmas Eve. Snow covered ground was a welcome sight on the morning of December 25th. The images below demonstrate Snow Depth as modeled by the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC). Clicking on either image will enlarge the image. The image on the left demonstrates snow depth as of around 11am on December 24th, with the image on the left indicating snow depth as of 6pm on December 25th. As the NOHRSC indicates, enough snowfall fell to create a White Christmas for portions of the state.
