High Wind Across Western & Central Wyoming Overnight - June 13-14

Thunderstorm outflow boundaries combined with a passing cold front late Thursday evening to bring gusty northwest wind to western and central Wyoming overnight.  The cold front swept east across the region late Thursday evening and early Friday morning.  Lingering late evening thunderstorms produced outflow wind that enhanced the wind speeds in several locations.  The northwest wind accompanying the cold front often favors certain locations across the lower elevations in Big Horn, Fremont, Johnson, and Sublette counties.  Indeed, several locations in those counties observed wind speeds in excess of 50 mph.

Included in the table below are peak wind speeds
in excess of 45 mph recorded between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday.
