Winter Storm Summary Banner

A winter storm produced strong winds and significant snowfall across portions of the Cowboy State Friday into Saturday morning.  Strong winds caused an empty semitrailer truck to blow over near Casper Friday.  A combination of upslope flow in wake of a cold front, and some elevated instability resulted in moderate to heavy snow from the Riverton and Lander areas east to Casper.  The elevated instability resulted in even some lightning strikes Friday evening.  Snowfall totals and strongest winds from this event are below.
