...Dust From Texas and Oklahoma Makes a Visit to the Ozarks...

Sporadic reports of "red rain" and falling dust were reported across the Missouri Ozarks Saturday night.  Strong winds associated with Saturday’s storm system kicked up a large amount of dust across Texas and Oklahoma, reducing visibility to as low as one mile in cities such as Dallas/Fort Worth and Oklahoma City. This dust was pulled northward into the Missouri Ozarks ahead of a cold front by strong southwesterly winds. Scattered rain showers interacted with this dust, resulting in a "muddy rain" that collected on cars and other exposed objects.

The following image shows where the dust originated.
