...Heavy Rainfall for the Ozarks...Again...

Another storm system moved across the Ozarks overnight

Showers and thunderstorms moved across the region overnight with upwards of 3.50 inches reported in some locations. Generally, most areas received 1 to 2 inches of rain. A band of heavier rain did occur across southeast Kansas and extreme southwest Missouri though some of the storm totals noted on the radar estimated precipitation were about double the amount that actually fell. This is likely due to large hail that fell in those regions. The hail is measured as heavy rainfall by the radar and is added to the actual rain causing the overestimation.
