...New Point & Click Forecast...

The National Weather Service released a new version of the point forecast web pages that uses a Google Maps interface for navigation and location information.  Google Maps display much more information than the old maps, also allow for zooming and panning to new locations. Progressive disclosure of details on the maps as you zoom in greatly improves the ability for a user to pinpoint their location to better ensure they are looking at the correct grid. The map also displays the forecast area - the grid - as a red shaded area.

This feature allows you to zoom in at street level to choose a forecast point.

To get to the point and click forecast map, just click on the map at the front page of our website or enter your town or zip code.

Addiitonally, you can click on the KML icon to display your forecast selection area and information in GIS viewers
