A winter storm brought significant accumulations of snow and ice to the Missouri Ozarks and southeast Kansas beginning on Monday afternoon and continuing into Tuesday and early this morning. Our latest reports from local law enforcement officials, emergency management and media indicate that the highest accumulations of ice were received over Ozark, Howell, Shannon and Oregon counties where accumulations up to two inches were reported. Snow and sleet accumulations across the region ranged from 2 to 5 inches. The accumulations of snow and ice continue to make travel treacherous across the region.
The National Weather Service will continue to gather information on snow and ice totals and send that information out as it becomes available.
