Record Low Temperatures Across the Ozarks

Record low temperatures were recorded for many locations across the Ozarks over the last 3 days, as a cool and dry Canadian airmass remained over the center of the country. This unseasonably cool weather system in combination with a clear sky, light winds and low humidities helped to allow early morning temperatures to fall into the mid 50's.

Normal lows for this time of year are generally in the mid to upper 60's. This marks the third day in a row that record lows have either been set or tied. As a matter of fact, on Saturday the 18th, a record low maximum temperature was set at Vichy-Rolla as the daily high only climbed to 73 degrees and was tied at West Plains with a high of 79. For more information see the Report of Record.

The chart below indicates the temperatures recorded through Monday morning.
