Severe Event Summary April 24, 2010

Strong to severe thunderstorms impacted portions of southern Missouri Saturday afternoon April 24th, 2010.  Thunderstorms developed ahead of a strong upper level storm system producing a weak EF-0 tornado along with some wind damage and hail.  Most of the wind damage occurred in Stone and western Taney counties where winds downed trees and power lines.

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY REVEALED THAT AN EF-0 TORNADO WITH 80 MPH WINDSTOUCHED DOWN OVER THE TABLE ROCK LAKE STATE PARK MARINA AND CAMPGROUNDS. THE TORNADO DAMAGED A FEW DOCKS WHILE CAUSING TREE DAMAGE IN CAMPSITE NUMBER 2. THE DAMAGE PATH EXTENDED FOR ONE HALF OF A MILE...WHILE THE WIDTH WAS APPROXIMATELY 70 YARDS.
