If you thought it has been wet and stormy the past several days, you are not imagining things. A stalled front and a series of upper level disturbances brought several rounds of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall from May 13th through May 16th. In addiition these storms produced scattered wind damage and hail along with three tornadoes.
Much of extreme southeast Kansas the Missouri Ozarks received 2 to 4 inches of rainfall during this period with locally higher amounts in excess of 5 inches. This heavy rainfall resulted in flooding of small streams and numerous low water crossings.
