ACROSS THE REGION FRIDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE
MAINTAINED CONTROL OF OUR WEATHER REGIME. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IN THE
UPPER 90S TO AROUND 100 DEGREES COMBINED WITH A MOIST AIR MASS HAVE
RESULTED IN HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 103 TO 110 DEGREES ACROSS THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS ON A DAILY BASIS SINCE SUNDAY. A BREAK IN
THE HEAT IS EXPECTED BY SUNDAY WHEN A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE
REGION.
