AN EARTHQUAKE HAS BEEN FELT WEAKLY BY MANY PEOPLE IN THE NWS
SPRINGFIELD FORECAST AREA...MAINLY IN SOUTHERN MISSOURI...MOST
COMMONLY ALONG THE ARKANSAS STATE LINE.

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION FROM THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
INDICATES THAT A 4.7 MAGNITUDE (RICHTER SCALE) EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED
IN ARKANSAS CENTERED 4 MILES NORTHEAST OF GREENBRIER OR 37 MILES
NORTH OF LITTLE ROCK. THE EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED AT 1100 PM CDT ON
FEBRUARY 27TH (0500 GMT FEBRUARY 28TH).
