THE LOWEST HIGH TEMPERATURE TO BE RECORDED ON ANY DAY IN MARCH OCCURED THIS 
YEAR...ON MARCH 2ND. ARCTIC AIR STEADILY MOVED SOUTH BEHIND A COLD FRONT THAT
PASSED ON THE 1ST...WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF ONLY 8 DEGREES ON THE 2ND.
NEARLY TWO INCHES OF SLEET AND SNOW FELL WITH WIND CHILLS CONSISTENTLY FROM
-10 TO -15.
ANOTHER STRONG COLD FRONT PASSED ON MARCH 11TH. THE MERCURY REACHED 
AN EARLY AFTERNOON HIGH OF 79 THAT DAY...BUT QUICKLY FALLING TEMPERATURES

ON NORTH WINDS GUSTING TO 46 MPH ALLOWED A FEW SNOW FLAKES TO FALL THAT EVENING.
SIMILARLY STRONG WINDS WERE COMMON AT THE END OF THE MONTH...WITH FOUR OF THE 
FINAL SIX DAYS OF MARCH EXPERIENCING WIND GUSTS OVER 40 MPH. THE TOTAL
PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH...LESS THAN THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH...PLACED AS THE
20TH DRIEST MARCH ON RECORD.
