Record Cool Days - **Updated!**

September temperatures were above-average for the United States as a whole, but the state of Kansas recorded an average temperature much below normal.  Additional information can be found by clicking HERE.

October thus far has been on the chilly side for residents of northeast Kansas.  Notably, three record cool temperatures have been recorded at each Topeka and Concordia already this month.  The 10th, 11th, and 13th all featured record low maximum temperatures!

As it stands now, the forecast high temperature for the next few days is:

October 15:  49 for Topeka

   58 for Concordia


 

October 15th

The highest temperature recorded at Billard Airport in Topeka was 51 degrees.  The current record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 15th was set in 1937.

 

The highest temperature recorded at Blosser Field in Concordia was 50 degrees.  The current record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 15th was set in 1969.

The highest temperature recorded at Billard Airport in Topeka was 45 degrees.  This tied the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 13th--the previous record set in 1969.

The highest temperature recorded at Blosser Field in Concordia was 45 degrees.  This tied the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 13th--the previous record set in 1969.

 


October 11th

The highest temperature recorded at Billard Airport in Topeka was 42 degrees.  This broke the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 11th--the previous record of 48 degrees was set in 1909.

The highest temperature recorded at Blosser Field in Concordia was 39 degrees.  This broke the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 11th--the previous record of 48 degrees was set in 1946.

 


October 10th

The highest temperature recorded at Billard Airport in Topeka was 40 degrees.  This broke the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 10th--the previous record of 45 degrees was set in 1932 and 1985.

The highest temperature recorded at Blosser Field in Concordia was 40 degrees.  This broke the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the 10th--the previous record of 48 degrees was set in 1946.
