100 Degrees At Noon...How Often Does That Happen?

Wednesday's sweltering heat has brought about a rare occurrence.  The thermometer had hit 100 degrees by Noon at Topeka, Forbes Field, and Manhattan!  How often does this happen?  Well, the following graph illustrates 30 years worth of temperature data at Noon in Topeka.  Only 7 days during the 30 year period recorded a temperature of 100 degrees or greater by the Noon hour...that's only once out of every 1500+ days!  A rare event indeed.
