INTERACTIVE PRECIPITATION MAPS

Did you know...

That high resolution precipitation and snowfall maps are created daily for the lower 48 states?

That the maps are rigorously quality controlled and based on actual reports?

That this information is available ranging from the past 3 hours to the past 90 days?

Well it's all true!  The National Weather Service, specifically the river forecast centers, make high resolution interactive precipitation and snowfall maps available for public use.  These maps are zoomable to a specific location of interest, and frequently updated throughout the day.  This web page is part of a series of internet articles, intended to introduce you to some of the services available on the NWS website with which you may not be so familiar, but you may find quite useful.  For previous articles in this series, please follow this link, and be sure to check back to www.weather.gov/topeka in the coming weeks for information on additional services.
