Potential Impacts

Increasing northwest winds may also cause brief reductions in visibility...mainly over north central Kansas.

Weather Discussion
A strong area of low pressure moving out of the southwestern United States will pump a large amount of moisture north into the southern and central Plains states. This moisture will interact with a strong cold front and the approaching low pressure system to produce widespread precipitation. Most of eastern and central Kansas will see a soaking rain with this storm system, but the rain will change to snow from northwest to southeast during the day on Saturday, with accumulating snowfall possible across parts of the area, with the best chance for moderate snow accumulations extending from southwest Kansas through north central Kansas, and into eastern Nebraska.
