Finally Some Snow

 

East Central and Northeast Kansas finally received at least an inch of snow for the 2011/2012 winter.  February 13th is the latest in the season Topeka has had to wait for the total accumulation of snow to reach 1".  Below is a map of snowfall reports from across the region from the February 13th snowfall.

A weather disturbance moved across eastern Kansas early Monday morning spreading snowfall across the area during the pre-dawn hours.  In general most locations received around 2".  This was still enough snow to cause some traffic accidents and a longer drive for morning commuters.  Thanks to all of the spotters and observers who submitted their reports.
