A slow moving upper level system is bringing the first significant rainfall in a long time to many areas of central and eastern Kansas. Some areas of north central and east central Kansas received quite a bit of rainfall Thursday night. We will continue to have periods of rainfall through the weekend. A lot of the area will end up with totals over two inches, with some areas over 3 or 4 inches.
Below is a graphic depicting the estimated rainfall through 7 AM August 24, and a listing of rainfall observations from Cooperative Observers around north central, northeast and east central Kansas.
