New Year's Eve Snowfall Totals

New Year's Eve Snowfall Totals

Most of eastern Kansas saw widespread snowfall on the last day of 2012, as a winter storm approached from the southern Rockies and lifted northeast across the region on New Year’s Eve. The snow developed across north central Kansas during the early morning hours before spreading into northeast Kansas later in the morning. The snowfall, moderate at times lingered through the afternoon, finally tapering off late in the evening. Snowfall totals for northeast Kansas were around 1 to 3 inches, while totals in north central Kansas were around 5 to 7 inches.
