March 10, 2013 Light Snow Falls Across North Central Kansas

Light to moderate snow fell across portions of north central Kansas on Sunday, March 10. A band of moderate snow developed across central Kansas and extended northeast as far as northern Iowa. Areas within this band of moderate snow received  between 5 and 10 inches of snow. Along with the snow strong winds developed behind a potent cold front bringing 20 to 30 mph winds, with gusts reaching nearly 40 mph throughout part of the day.  The Concordia ASOS reported visibility at or below a quarter mile for a large portion of the day while the snow was falling. By Sunday night the snow stopped and the system moved off to the northeast.
