First Measurable Snow Falls in Rapid City

November 18 - Downtown Rapid City received 0.9 inches of snow November 15 through 17--the first measurable snow of the 2010-2011 winter season. The Rapid City Regional Airport received only 0.4 inches of snow. The most snow fell in the northern Black Hills, where Lead measured 8.0 inches and 6.2 inches fell in Sundance. Snowfall on the South Dakota plains ranged from 0.5 to three inches. (Snowfall for downtown Rapid City was corrected)
