Weather Radio and ASOS Outages

The Blizzard of October 2013 has broken several important pieces of National Weather Service equipment. The NOAA Weather Radio transmitters for Rapid City (WXM-63) and Terry Peak (WXL-23) are both off the air. Also, the automated weather observing systems at Rapid City, Philip, and Pine Ridge are not able to send weather reports. Thankfully, the Rapid City area doppler weather radar is working very well and we are able to monitor storms. Updates to this status will be provided when available.
