An area of snow and strong winds is creating dangerous driving conditions across the Illinois River Valley this afternoon. Visibilities are being reduced to less than 1 mile in falling/blowing snow. The snow and wind will shift eastward to the I-55 corridor by 6 PM, then further east toward I-57 by mid-evening. Motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution and to be prepared for snow-covered roads and poor visibility.
