By Air:

- Book ahead to secure your spot at the lowest fare.  Prices tend to escalate as the demand increases during the holidays.

- Avoid peak travel days.

-  Pack light.  Space will be at a premium.  Packages should be mailed ahead of time.

- Arrive early to check-in; about two hours prior to departure.

- Be aware of security procedures to avoid delay.

By Road: 

- Make sure your vehicle is in good working order.  Before you leave, make sure your brakes, battery, engine fluids, tire pressure, and lights are all checked out.

- Carry emergency equipment along; including a first-aid kit, a flashlight, blankets, drinking water, snacks, and jumper cables.

- Let people know when you’ve left and your expected arrival time.

** Before leaving secure your home; stop or have a friend collect your mail and newspaper.  Set your alarm and timers for lights.
