The Paducah National Weather Service and WPSD Local 6
are partnering to provide a "A Night of Severe Weather" 
information on Thursday, June 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Evening Agenda  

  • A webinar/seminar presentation called "Promoting Public Response to 
     NWS Warnings; Achieving Greater Tornado Warning Response," 
     by Christine Wielgos, Paducah National Weather Service

  • A special presentation by guest speaker Chris Novy, Assistant 
     Chief Engineer FOX 25 Oklahoma City/Spotter who was recently 
     injured while storm spotting the El Reno tornado.
     
  •  A look back at memorable storms that have impacted our region from
    WPSD Local 6 Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Rukavina
    and a brief discussion
    of "Impact Based Warnings" by the Paducah NWS Warning Coordination
    Meteorologist, Rick Shanklin.
      
  • A panel discussion during which all participants will answer questions
    from the audience and from online submissions.
     

     

    Participants are also invited to a reception honoring Chris Novy at 5:30 in the Cybercafe
    of the Emerging Technology Building where they can meet Mr. Novy and other speakers.
