NWS OFFICIALS CONDUCTED A GROUND STORM DAMAGE SURVEY TODAY IN 

HICKMAN AND GRAVES COUNTIES. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE PRELIMINARY 

FINDINGS OF THE SURVEY. THIS INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING...SO THIS 

PRODUCT WILL BE UPDATED IF FURTHER INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.



* EVENT DATE: TUESDAY MAY 6 2003



* EVENT TYPE: F1 TORNADO  



* ESTIMATED TIME:  APPROX 1130 PM TO MIDNIGHT CDT

                   

* EVENT LOCATION: FROM JACKSON'S CHAPEL ROAD AND HWY 944 IN HICKMAN 

COUNTY...TO JUST SOUTH OF BELL CITY IN GRAVES COUNTY.

  

* ESTIMATED MAX WINDS: 95 MPH  



* DAMAGE AREA DIMENSIONS: 40-50 YARDS WIDE...22 MILES LONG.  PATH    

  VERY BROKEN.

 

* INJURIES:  NONE

     

* FATALITIES: NONE



* DAMAGE: SOME TREES TOPPED OUT OR PUSHED OVER.  ONE GARAGE ATTACHED 

TO A RESIDENCE WAS DESTROYED. ROOFS DAMAGED...ONE OPEN ALUMINUM 

EQUIPMENT SHED HEAVILY DAMAGED.
