Late Season Snow in Western Kentucky

A total of 1 to 3 inches of snow fell over parts of western Kentucky during the morning of Tuesday, April 13, 2004. The snow fell along and southeast of a line from Owensboro to Mayfield. Although temperatures were mainly above freezing for most of the event, a slushy accumulation on roads caused some accidents. A couple of persons were killed in weather-related accidents in Muhlenberg County, where isolated amounts to 4 inches were reported.

The latest date on record for accumulating snow in both Paducah and Evansville is April 18. However, neither Paducah or Evansville received measurable snow on the 13th..
