.DISCUSSION...

VERY WARM AND WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL COMBINE WITH A
DRY AIR MASS AND GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS TO CREATE VERY
HIGH FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE REGION. MIN RH VALUES DURING PEAK
HEATING WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER TEENS TO LOW 20S WITH WIND GUSTS
AROUND 25 MPH OR SLIGHTLY HIGHER. ALSO...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA LATE THIS
AFTERNOON AS A COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE AREA. GUSTY AND ERRATIC
WINDS ARE POSSIBLE NEAR THUNDERSTORMS...ALONG WITH CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING STRIKES. WINDS WILL SWITCH TO THE NORTH ON SUNDAY WITH
RH VALUES REMAINING FAIRLY LOW.

VERY LOW MOISTURE CONTENT OF GRASSES...AND OTHER DRY
ORGANIC MATERIAL ON THE GROUND...INDICATE THAT DANGEROUS
BURNING CONDITIONS EXIST. FIRES WILL SPREAD RAPIDLY AND
SHOW ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

MOISTURE CONTENT OF GRASSES...AND OTHER DRY ORGANIC MATERIAL
ON THE GROUND...INDICATE THAT THERE IS A MODERATE TO HIGH
POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE OCCURRENCE. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE
RESTRICTED TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING HOURS WHEN WIND SPEEDS
USUALLY LOWER AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER.
