FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
528 AM EDT TUE APR 21 2015

...COOL AGAIN WITH LIGHT SNOW AND RAIN SHOWERS...

.DISCUSSION...THE BEST CHANCE OF LIGHT PRECIPITATION THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING WILL BE ACROSS THE NORTHWEST WIND SNOW BELTS...
THIS INCLUDES AREAS FROM IRONWOOD AND WAKEFIELD...UP THROUGH THE
KEWEENAW PENINSULA...THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF BARAGA COUNTY...
AS WELL AS EAST OF MARQUETTE THROUGH GRAND MARAIS AND WHITEFISH
POINT. AROUND 0.25 TO 0.40 INCHES OF LIQUID WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS
THOSE NORTHWEST WIND SNOWBELTS THROUGH WEDNESDAY. LESS THAN 0.10
INCHES OF LIQUID IS ANTICIPATED SOUTH OF A LINE FROM IRON MOUNTAIN
TO ESCANABA. THIS PERSISTENT COOL AND DAMP AIRMASS IS THANKS TO AN
AREA OF LOW PRESSURE SET UP ACROSS EASTERN ONTARIO AND SOUTHERN
QUEBEC. DRIER HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS CENTRAL CANADA WILL SLOWLY EDGE
INTO WESTERN UPPER MICHIGAN LATE THURSDAY...AND BUILD ACROSS THE
REST OF THE AREA THIS WEEKEND. WHILE DRIER AIR WILL SETTLE IN...
THE COOL AIR WILL ONLY SLOWLY MODERATE.
