WEATHER SUMMARY FOR UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LA CROSSE WI
950 AM CDT SAT MAY 2 2015

DURING THE OVERNIGHT...CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES COVERED THE AREA
WITH SOME SHOWERS NOTED ACROSS SOUTHWEST IOWA. THE OVERNIGHT LOWS
WERE MILD...AND RANGED IN THE 40S TO MID 50S.

A SOUTHERLY FLOW IS NOW IN PLACE ACROSS THE AREA WHICH WILL
PROVIDE MILD TEMPERATURES AND AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE. THIS RETURN
OF MOISTURE COULD LEAD TO A FEW SHOWERS TONIGHT...BUT AN EVEN
GREATER CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LATER ON SUNDAY INTO
SUNDAY NIGHT. THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY MOVE THROUGH THE AREA SUNDAY
NIGHT...A PRECURSOR TO WHAT LOOKS LIKE A MORE ACTIVE WEATHER WEEK
AHEAD.

LOOKING AT THE TEMPERATURES...EXPECT WIDESPREAD HIGHS TODAY AND
SUNDAY IN THE MID AND UPPER 70S...WITH EVEN SOME READINGS AROUND 80
IN THE TYPICALLY WARMER RIVER VALLEY LOCATIONS. THEN OVERNIGHT
EXPECT LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER AND MID 50S.

THE OUTLOOK FOR MONDAY...LOOK FOR COOLER...BUT YET ABOVE NORMAL
HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S TO MID 70S WITH A CHANCE FOR RAIN ACROSS IOWA
ILLINOIS AND FAR SOUTHERN WISCONSIN.
