FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN
1218 PM EDT FRI APR 24 2015

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
southern Indiana...

  Muscatatuck River...White River...

.Lowland flooding and bank full conditions continued along the lower
portions of the Muscatatuck and White in southern Indiana. Rivers
are currently at or past crest level.

High water will be slow to recede in southern Indiana if central and
southern Indiana receive an inch of rainfall on Saturday. Could also
see new or renewed flooding along lower portions of the Wabash and
White Rivers. Flooding in portions of southern and western Indiana
could extend into the beginning of May.

Flooding affected a few local roads...low agricultural land and river
parks previously flooded this month.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The White River at Elliston.
* until Thursday morning.
* At  8:00 AM Friday the stage was 16.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river has fallen below flood stage but is expected
  to reach flood stage again Monday night.
* At 20.0 feet...River road north of Greene CR 150 W is flooded.  Low
  agricultural fields flood.

  The White River at Edwardsport.
* until Friday May 01.
* At  7:00 AM Friday the stage was 17.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Friday morning.
* At 17.5 feet...Flooding closes Old Vincennes Road.  High water
  crosses SR 358 on the Daviess County side just west of the levee.
  Flooding begins to affect higher bottomlands.  Residential property
  of river cabins begins to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The White River at Petersburg.
* until Friday May 01.
* At 10:30 AM Friday the stage was 18.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 18.3 feet by this
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage early Friday
  morning.
* At 18.0 feet...Lowland flooding begins to flood several Pike County
  roads.  Many of the following county roads begin to flood around
  this level...east of SR 57 include CR 750N...CR 600N and CR 1000E.
  Pike county road subject to flooding west of SR 57 include...CR 250
  W...CR 400W...CR 675N...CR 700 N...CR  1000w...CR 900W...CR 700W
  and CR 775W.

* until Saturday May 02.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 18.5
  feet this afternoon.
* At 19.0 feet...Flood waters cover the Hazleton softball field.
  Pottsville Road is underwater and impassable.
