FLOOD WARNING

...The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a flood warning
for the following rivers...

  San Bernard River near Sweeny affecting the following counties in Texas...
  Brazoria...Jackson...Lavaca
  Navidad River Near Morales affecting the following counties in Texas...
  Brazoria...Jackson...Lavaca
  Lavaca River Near Edna affecting the following counties in Texas...Brazoria...
  Jackson...Lavaca


...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity for the following
rivers in Texas...
  Tres Palacios River Near Midfield affecting Matagorda and Wharton Counties
  Navidad River Near Strane Park affecting Jackson County

For the San Bernard River, at Sweeny, Moderate flooding is occurring and is
expected to continue.  For Tres Palacios River at Midfield, Minor flooding is
occurring, with Moderate flooding forecasted.  For the Navidad River, at
Morales...Strane Park, Minor flooding is occurring and is expected to continue.

For the Lavaca River, at Edna, Minor flooding is occurring and is expected to
continue.

The current weather is dominated by a broad upper level trough over eastern
Colorado and high pressure over
the eastern U.S. An upper level disturbance will bring a chance of showers and
thunderstorms to the area tonight
and Sunday. This weather system will produce rainfall amounts ranging from 0.1
to 0.4 inches. The
extended outlook is for partly cloudy skies Monday and Tuesday with a chance of
showers on Wednesday
and Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons with interests along these streams should keep alert to rising water and
take all precautions to protect their property. Do not drive or walk into
flooded areas the depth and water velocity could be too great for you to cross
safely. Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate
route. Livestock and equipment should be removed from the flood plain
immediately.

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The San Bernard River near Sweeny.
* from late tonight to Wednesday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0800 AM Saturday the stage was 15.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Sunday morning and continue to rise
to
  near 16.7 feet by Monday evening. The river will fall below flood stage by
  Tuesday evening.
* At 17.0 feet...At levels near 17 feet moderate lowland flooding begins. Water
  is over the mid level walkway at the Phillips Terminal near Sweeny. Barges can
  not push barges upstream and are unable to dock. Water begins spilling into
  the left flood plain.

The Flood Warning continues for
 The Tres Palacios River Near Midfield
* until late Sunday night...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0730 PM Saturday the stage was 25.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 26.2 feet late tonight.
  The river will fall below flood stage Sunday afternoon.
* At 26.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding begins with water well into the flood
  plain on the right upstream bank and within inches of spilling over the east
  approach to the bridge at FM 456.  The river will be almost one quarter mile
  wide in the vicinity of the gage.

* until Sunday afternoon...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0800 PM Saturday the stage was 29.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Sunday
  morning.
* At 29.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins as water reaches the right
  approach to the bridge at County Road 283. Livestock should be removed from
  vulnerable areas of the flood plain.

 The Navidad River Near Strane Park
* until Monday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0815 PM Saturday the stage was 26.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by tomorrow
  evening.
* At 26.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding begins threatning livestock and
  property in the river channel. The right approach to the County Road 401
  bridge is closed making travel difficult.

  The Lavaca River Near Edna.
* until Monday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0815 PM Saturday the stage was 22.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.2 feet by Sunday
  morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday night.
* At 23.0 feet...Flooding along the Lavaca River reaches hundreds of yards into
  the lower flood plain backing up sloughs and low areas. Minor roads and near
  the river flood and livestock are isolated.
