FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR ALASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
619 AM AKDT MON APR 27 2015

.DISCUSSION...

THE DRY PATTERN LOOKS TO CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY AS WEAK FLOW ALOFT
AND AT THE SURFACE CONTINUES TO USHER IN DRY AIR FROM THE INTERIOR OF
ALASKA. RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BE A TOUCH WETTER TODAY WITH SOME
LOCATIONS SEEING SOME WEAK ONSHORE FLOW...BUT TUESDAY APPEARS TO BE THE
DRIEST DAY OF THE UPCOMING WEEK CURRENTLY. WITH AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES
ACROSS SOUTHWEST ALASKA EXPECTED TO WARM INTO THE 50S YET AGAIN AND AN
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE PUSHING WESTWARD ACROSS THE ALASKA RANGE...A FEW
AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS CANNOT BE RULED OUT TODAY. WITH A
SIGNIFICANT DRY LAYER AT THE SURFACE...IT WILL BE TOUGH FOR MUCH IF ANY
PRECIPITATION TO MAKE IT TO THE SURFACE...MAKING ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO
DEVELOP TO LIKELY BE DRY.
