EXPECT VERY DRY CONDITIONS ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THIS EVENING.
THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER INDEX WILL BE IN THE EXTREME CATEGORY FOR
PORTIONS OF EASTERN IOWA AND FAR WEST-CENTRAL ILLINOIS DURING THIS
TIME. ELSEWHERE THE GFDI WILL BE IN THE VERY HIGH CATEGORY.
TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON HAVE PEAKED INTO THE UPPER 70S AND LOWER
80S WITH MINIMUM RELATIVELY HUMIDITY DOWN AROUND 20 PERCENT AND
SOUTHERLY WIND GUSTS NEAR OR IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH.

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA TONIGHT BRINGING WIDESPREAD
