DISCUSSION FOR...VANDENBERG ECC DISPATCH
321 PM PDT FRI MAY 1 2015

...DISCUSSION FROM LOS ANGELES/OXNARD...

...VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WITH GUSTY ONSHORE FLOW TO CONTINUE
THROUGH SATURDAY...

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL PERSIST THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY THEN WEAKEN
EARLY NEXT WEEK. VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH
SATURDAY DESPITE A SHALLOW MARINE LAYER. OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES WILL
BE LOCALLY POOR IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS. GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS
WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE INTERIOR AREAS...ESPECIALLY THE
MOUNTAINS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY. ELEVATED FIRE DANGER WILL THEREFORE
PERSIST THROUGH SATURDAY IN THE WINDIER AREAS. THE RIDGE SHOULD
BREAK DOWN ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY AND BRING COOLER AND MORE HUMID
CONDITIONS THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. GUSTIER WESTERLY WINDS
ARE EXPECTED HOWEVER...ESPECIALLY OVER THE INTERIOR SECTIONS.

NOTE...BEGINNING MONDAY MAY 4...NWS WFO LOS ANGELES/OXNARD WILL
BEGIN FIRE WEATHER HIGH SEASON OPERATIONS. THE FWF PRODUCT WILL BE
ISSUED TWICE DAILY INCLUDING WEEKENDS. THE MORNING ISSUANCE WILL
OCCUR BETWEEN 900 AND 930 AM AND THE AFTERNOON PRODUCT WILL BE
ISSUED BETWEEN 300 AND 330 PM. AS ALWAYS...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
FORECASTERS ARE AVAILABLE 24/7 FOR SPOT FORECAST REQUESTS AND
CONSULTATION.

...DISCUSSION FROM MONTEREY...

THE RETURN OF THE MARINE LAYER WILL BRING COOLER TEMPERATURES AND
BETTER HUMIDITY RECOVERIES TO THE COAST TONIGHT. INLAND AREAS WILL
SEE SIGNIFICANTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES SATURDAY AS ONSHORE FLOW
RETURNS AND THE MARINE LAYER DEEPENS ALLOWING THE MARINE AIR TO
PENETRATE FARTHER INLAND. BETTER RH RECOVERIES AND COOLER
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND THROUGH MUCH OF
NEXT WEEK.

NOTE : ALL WINDS ARE 20-FOOT WINDS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG, GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS.
