...VERY WET CONDITIONS HAVE EASED SOUTHEAST TEXAS OUT OF
DROUGHT...

APRIL 2015 ENDED WITH WETTER THAN NORMAL RAINFALL ACROSS SOUTHEAST
TEXAS. BETWEEN 3 AND 10 INCHES OF RAINFALL WERE RECORDED...WITH
THE MEAN RAINFALL OBSERVED AT THE 12 CLIMATE SITES AT 6.02 INCHES!
APRIL ALSO ENDED UP WARMER THAN NORMAL.

THE LEAST AMOUNT OF RAINFALL OCCURRED AT CONROE...WHICH OBSERVED
3.16 INCHES OR ONLY 0.49 ABOVE THE MONTHLY NORMAL. SUGAR LAND
RECORDED THE MOST RAINFALL OF 9.76 INCHES...6.44 INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL. HERE IS A LISTING OF THE RAINFALL AMOUNTS AND DEFICITS FOR
THE JANUARY THROUGH APRIL PERIOD AT EACH FIRST- AND SECOND-ORDER

NOTE THE MIX OF ABOVE AND BELOW NORMAL DEPARTURES IN JANUARY AND
THE VERY DRY FEBRUARY WHERE ONLY DW HOOKS AIRPORT RECEIVED OVER
1 INCH OF RAINFALL. MARCH AND APRIL HAVE REBOUNDED ABUNDANTLY.
HERE IS A COMPARISON OF THE AVERAGE RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR EACH
MONTH AND BETWEEN THE TWO-MONTH PERIODS OF JANUARY/FEBRUARY AND
MARCH/APRIL. NOTE THAT THERE IS OVER A 3.5 INCH INCREASE IN THE
BI-MONTHLY AVERAGE BETWEEN THE TWO PERIODS.
