WEATHER SUMMARY FOR PUERTO RICO

SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLOUDY THIS AFTERNOON OVER PUERTO RICO AS
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED ALONG THE CORDILLERA CENTRAL
AND WESTERN PUERTO RICO. THE DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED AROUND 2 INCHES
OF RAIN ACROSS LAS MARIAS...VILLALBA AND JUANA DIAZ. TEMPERATURES
WERE IN THE HIGH 80S TO LOW 90S ACROSS COASTAL AREAS. THE WIND WAS
MAINLY FROM THE EAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS NEAR THE
THUNDERSTORMS.

UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA ON TUESDAY AND WILL
INCREASE SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY...MAINLY OVER THE
INTERIOR AND SOUTHWESTERN SECTIONS OF PUERTO RICO. FOR THE REST
OF THE WEEK HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE THE DOMINANT WEATHER FEATURE.
PASSING TRADE WIND SHOWERS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS AND EASTERN
PUERTO RICO ARE EXPECTED DURING THE OVERNIGHT AND EARLY MORNING
HOURS...AND ISOLATED AFTERNOON CONVECTION OVER WESTERN PUERTO
RICO EACH DAY.

MARINERS CAN EXPECT WINDS UP TO 15 KNOTS AND SEAS UP TO 5 FEET FOR
THE NEXT FEW DAYS. A NORTHEAST SWELL IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE ON
THURSDAY NIGHT INCREASING THE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS ALONG THE NORTH
FACING BEACHES OF PUERTO RICO.
