FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
449 AM MDT MON MAY 04 2015

.DISCUSSION...TODAY AND TONIGHT...AN UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM AND UPSLOPE
FLOW WILL BRING COOL AND MOIST CONDITIONS TO THE FORECAST AREA
THROUGH TONIGHT. EXPECT WIDESPREAD SHOWERS WITH EMBEDDED AFTERNOON
WET THUNDERSTORMS. SNOW LEVELS WILL REMAIN NEAR 10000 FEET WITH A
FEW INCHES POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT. CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN WILL BE
QUITE HIGH WITH DISPERSION REMAINING POOR.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... THE WEATHER PATTERN
WILL REMAIN WET AND UNSETTLED THIS WEEK. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE
WILL BRING NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS TO THE
FORECAST AREA TUESDAY...WITH SHOWERS AND A FEW STORMS LINGERING INTO
TUESDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW LEVEL MAY LOWER INTO THE 9500-10500 FOOT RANGE.
WHILE SOME DRYING AND WARMING WILL OCCUR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...
TEMPERATURES WILL ONLY REBOUND TO AROUND NORMAL WITH HUMIDITIES
REMAINING ABOVE AVERAGE. THE WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL PROMOTE BETTER
MIXING AND SMOKE DISPERSION. ANOTHER COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE
BY FRIDAY WITH COOLER TEMPERATURES AND A CONTINUED THREAT OF SHOWERS
AND A FEW STORMS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...
...ALL SURFACE WINDS ARE 20-FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGED WINDS...
...CWR IS CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN - 0.10 INCH OR MORE LIQUID...
...24 HR TRENDS ARE BASED ON AVERAGES OVER THE RESPECTIVE ZONE
GROUPS AND MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL FORECAST VALUES
                     SHOWN IN THOSE GROUPS...
