IOWA AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING...AS A
FRONTAL BOUNDARY REMAINED DRAPED OVER CENTRAL KANSAS THROUGH
NORTHERN ILLINOIS. LARGE HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF
QUARTERS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND HEAVY RAIN WERE COMMON.
TORRENTIAL RAINS FELL ACROSS MCDONOUGH COUNTY IN ILLINOIS...WHERE
RADAR ESTIMATES OF 2 TO 2.5 INCHES FELL IN A LITTLE OVER AN
HOUR...CAUSING FLASH FLOODING. HIGH TEMPERATURES MONDAY...RANGED
FROM 72 DEGREES IN CEDAR RAPIDS...TO 82 DEGREES IN MOUNT PLEASANT.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND MOVE ACROSS
THE AREA OVERNIGHT TONIGHT...BRINGING MORE RAIN TO THE REGION.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER A HALF INCH WILL BE COMMON...WITH
HIGHER AMOUNTS EXPECTED FOR THOSE AREAS THAT SEE A THUNDERSTORM.
LOWS TUESDAY...WILL RANGE FROM THE LOWER 50S ALONG AND NORTH OF
HIGHWAY 20...TO THE LOWER 60S IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI AND WEST
CENTRAL ILLINOIS. RAIN WILL COME TO AN END FROM WEST TO EAST BY
LATE MORNING...WITH HIGHS TOPPING OUT IN THE MIDDLE 60S NORTH OF
HIGHWAY 20...TO THE LOWER 80S IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI BY THE
AFTERNOON.
