TODAY...A COLD FRONT PUSHED ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. HIGH TEMPERATURES REACHED INTO
THE MID 60S IN NORTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...LOW TO MID 70S OVER THE
SOUTHEASTERN PANHANDLE AND SANDHILLS...TO THE UPPER 70S TO MID 80S
ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...AND
WESTERN SANDHILLS. PRIOR TO THE COLD FRONT PASSING...WINDS WERE INITIALLY
OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST AT 10 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR...BEFORE TURNING
TO THE NORTHWEST AT 15 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR.

TONIGHT...THE AFOREMENTIONED COLD FRONT WILL LEAVE IN ITS WAKE LOW
TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S TO LOW 40S...WITH BREEZY NORTHERLY WINDS
OF 15 TO 25 MILES PER HOUR. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE
LATE THIS EVENING...MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF NEBRASKA HIGHWAY
2...WITH THE BEST CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS
PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA. DUE TO THE VERY DRY AIR MASS IN
PLACE THIS EVENING ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA...SOME STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DRY
LIGHTNING...WHICH WOULD POSE A WILDFIRE RISK WHEN COMBINED WITH
THE VERY DRY FUELS.
