EASTERN EDGECOMBE...JOHNSTON AND WAYNE COUNTIES UNTIL 1245 AM EDT...

AT 1123 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR BETHEL
TO NEAR FREMONT TO BENSON...AND MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.

WIND GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH AND HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE
STORMS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
GOLDSBORO...TARBORO...SMITHFIELD...MOUNT OLIVE...WILSON...MOUNT
OLIVE...BENSON...FREMONT...WALNUT CREEK AND MICRO.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY BUILDING OR VEHICLE. WIND GUSTS AS HIGH AS
40 MPH ARE CAPABLE OF KNOCKING DOWN TREE LIMBS AND BLOWING AROUND
TRASH CANS...POTTED PLANTS...LAWN FURNITURE AND OTHER LIGHT OUTDOOR
OBJECTS. IN ADDITION... DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING WILL
OCCUR WITH THESE STORMS.

LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL QUICKLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND RESULT IN
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS. DRIVERS ARE URGED TO SLOW DOWN AND USE
EXTRA CAUTION TO AVOID HYDROPLANING.
