...HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATION EXPECTED OVER THE SANGRE DE CRISTO
MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS FOR RATON RIDGE AND JOHNSON MESA TONIGHT
INTO MONDAY...

.A STRONG AND UNSEASONABLY COLD UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL BRING HEAVY
SNOW TO THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO TONIGHT AND
MONDAY. AS THE SYSTEM MOVES INTO EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO THIS
EVENING...COLD ENOUGH AIR WILL MOVE IN FROM EASTERN COLORADO AND
INTO NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO LATER TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING TO
ALLOW SNOW MAINLY ABOVE 7000 FEET.

STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT
MONDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...8 TO 12 INCHES.

* TIMING...A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW EARLY THIS EVENING WILL CHANGE
  TO SNOW TONIGHT.

* WINDS...BECOMING NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH.

* SNOW LEVELS...IT WILL BECOME COLD ENOUGH FOR SNOW AT ALL
  ELEVATIONS.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...ROADS WILL LIKELY BECOME SNOW PACKED AND ICY. THE
  VISIBILITY WILL FALL BELOW A HALF MILE DURING PERIODS OF HEAVY
  SNOW.

MONDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...5 TO 10 INCHES AND LOCALLY UP TO 15 INCHES.
  THE GREATER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE
  SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS.

* TIMING...RAIN...AND A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW WILL CHANGE OVER TO
  SNOW LATER THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT.

* WINDS...BECOMING NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH.

* SNOW LEVELS...DROPPING TO BETWEEN 6500 AND 7000 FEET BY MONDAY
  MORNING WITH ACCUMULATING SNOW LEVELS FALLING TO NEAR OR JUST
  BELOW 7500 FEET.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...ROADS ABOVE 7500 FEET INCLUDING RATON AND
  BOBCAT PASSES WILL LIKELY BECOME SNOW PACKED AND ICY. THE
  VISIBILITY WILL FALL BELOW A HALF MILE DURING PERIODS OF HEAVY
  SNOW.
