A WEAK UPPER LEVEL WEATHER DISTURBANCE OVER FAR EASTERN COLORADO
EARLY THIS EVENING WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE EAST AWAY FROM THE STATE
OVERNIGHT. STRONG NORTHWEST FLOW BEHIND THIS DEPARTING SYSTEM
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHWESTERLY WINDS TODAY IN
THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH PLAINS WILL WEAKEN OVERNIGHT RESULTING IN A
STEADY DECREASE IN WINDS AT THE SURFACE BY LATE THIS EVENING.
OTHERWISE MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL
OVERNIGHT. ON MONDAY...AN UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE CURRENTLY
OVER UTAH WILL PASS OVER COLORADO DURING THE DAY...BRINGING WARMER
TEMPERATURES...LESS WIND AND ANOTHER ROUND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY TO
THE STATE. AS THE WEEK GOES ON...A STORM SYSTEM POISED OVER THE
PACIFIC NORTHEAST ON TUESDAY IS FORECAST TO DROP SOUTH OVER THE FOUR
CORNERS REGION BY LATE ON WEDNESDAY. CURRENT INDICATIONS POINT TO
FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF THIS STORM SYSTEM AS IT TRACKS VERY SLOWLY
EASTWARD ACROSS COLORADO AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO DURING THE LATTER
HALF OF THE WEEK. THIS STORM MAY HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE
SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL FOR THE FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS AND NEARBY PLAINS
OF COLORADO. TRAVELERS SHOULD PLAN ACCORDINGLY SHOULD THIS STORM
SYSTEM TAKE THIS COURSE.
