A river flood warning remains in effect for the Lavaca River...San Bernard
River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede.
Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.
Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few
days.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or other news sources for further updates.

for
  The San Bernard River Near East Bernard
* until Tuesday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0800 PM Monday the stage was 17.1 feet
* Minor flooding is occurring and Nonflood flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage this evening.
* At 17.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage with
  minor roads along the river inundated.  Backwater flooding up Britt Branch and
  Bratcher Slough begins.

* until late Thursday night...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0831 PM Monday the stage was 28.1 feet
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to slowly fall to below flood stage by Thursday
  early afternoon. Some minor tributaries have water working their way through the
  gage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The San Bernard River near Sweeny
* until late Wednesday night...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0800 AM Monday the stage was 19.8 feet
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Wednesday
  early afternoon.
* At 20.0 feet...At levels near 20 feet major lowland flooding begins. Water is
  within 5 feet of the top of the dock at the Phillips Terminal near Sweeny.
  Tugs can not push barges upstream and are unable to dock and there is
  widespread innundation onf the flood plain.

* At 0827 PM Monday the stage was 21.2 feet
* Minor flooding is occurring and Nonflood flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to rapidly fall to below flood stage
  and bankfull stage overnight.
* At 21.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins with flow backing through
  preipheral channels adjacent to the river and reaches into sloughs and low
  areas.
