FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
454 AM CDT WED APR 1 2015

.DISCUSSION...
THE WEAK COLD FRONT WHICH BROUGHT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO
THE TENNESSEE VALLEY YESTERDAY EVENING WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT TO
THE SOUTH TODAY. A DRIER AIRMASS IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT WILL
ALLOW AFTERNOON RH VALUES TO FALL INTO THE 30-35 PERCENT RANGE FOR
MOST OF NORTHEAST ALABAMA. THIS AIRMASS WILL ALSO LIMIT THE
COVERAGE OF PRECIPITATION TODAY...WITH THE HIGHEST CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS AND STORMS ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST PORTION OF THE REGION. THE
FRONT IS EXPECTED TO LIFT NORTHWARD AS A WARM FRONT TONIGHT...AND
USHER A WARM AND HUMID AIRMASS BACK INTO THE REGION. THIS WILL
BRING A HIGHER COVERAGE OF SHOWERS/STORMS BOTH LATE TONIGHT AND
DURING THE DAY ON THURSDAY. WEAK TRANSPORT FLOW WILL LEAD TO FAIR
DISPERSION TODAY...WITH GOOD DISPERSION FORECAST FOR THURSDAY AS
TRANSPORT FLOW INCREASES TO AROUND 30 MPH.

A STRONGER COLD FRONT WILL PUSH ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA ON FRIDAY
AFTERNOON/EVENING...BRINGING A FINAL ROUND OF WIDESPREAD SHOWERS
AND STORMS BEFORE A COOL/DRY RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FOR
THE WEEKEND. PRECIPITATION CHANCES WILL INCREASE ONCE AGAIN EARLY
NEXT WEEK AS SOUTHERLY FLOW STRENGTHENS AHEAD OF ANOTHER STORM
SYSTEM.
