AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL

FOR 06Z AVIATION.

.DISCUSSION...

THE RAIN SHIELD HAS PUSHED OUT OF EAST ALABAMA AS THE UPPER LEVEL
IMPULSE TRACKS INTO SOUTHERN GEORGIA. A LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION OVER
EAST ALABAMA WILL PRODUCE ENOUGH LIFT FOR PATCHY DRIZZLE FROM
BIRMINGHAM EASTWARD FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENING. EVEN THOUGH
MOISTURE ABOVE 700MB HAS DECREASED CONSIDERABLY...LOW CLOUDS WILL
LINGER DUE TO THE CYCLONIC LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION. HIGH RELATIVE
HUMIDITY NEAR THE SURFACE WILL CREATE FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR
PATCHY FOG. FORECAST HAS BEEN UPDATED TO REMOVE RAIN CHANCES
OVERNIGHT AND ADD DRIZZLE FOR AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF I-65.

.AVIATION...
06Z TAF DISCUSSION.

EVEN THOUGH THERE`S BEEN SOME FLUCTUATION OVER THE PAST FEW HOURS
IFR/LIFR CIGS STILL EXPECTED THRU THE NIGHT. TCL COULD PERHAPS BE
THE EXCEPTION AS ISENTROPIC LIFT APPEARS TO BE LESS IN THE WEST.
THEREFORE HAVE ONLY INCLUDED IFR CIGS CLOSER TO SUNRISE FOR TCL. A
SLOW IMPROVEMENT WILL OCCUR SATURDAY MORNING WITH CIGS BACK UP TO
AT LEAST MVFR BY AFTERNOON. IT LOOKS LIKE WE`LL HAVE A RAIN FREE
NIGHT WITH SHOWER/STORM COVERAGE INCREASING FROM THE SOUTHWEST
LATE SATURDAY MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON. RIGHT NOW BEST CHANCE
FOR TS IMPACTS WILL COME NEAR THE END OF THE PERIOD. WINDS WILL BE
LIGHT AND VARIABLE TONIGHT AND OUT OF THE E/SE AROUND 5 KTS ON
SATURDAY.
