REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS

VERY LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS DEVELOPED EARLY THIS MORNING ALONG AND EAST
OF A DODGE CITY TO ASHLAND LINE.  THERE WAS VERY LITTLE IF ANY
ACCUMULATION.  SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLOUDY OVERNIGHT ACROSS WESTERN
KANSAS.  THE CLOUDS HAD DECREASED FROM WEST TO EAST THIS MORNING.
LOW TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE 50S, EXCEPT FOR UPPER 40S IN THE
NORTHWEST CORNER.

A SURFACE TROUGH WILL EXTEND FROM THE NORTHERN PLAINS TO EASTERN
COLORADO AND WESTERN KANSAS THROUGH TONIGHT, WHILE A WESTERLY FLOW
CONTINUES ALOFT.  GUSTY SOUTH WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON MAINLY FROM THE EASTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE INTO
PARTS OF SOUTHWESTERN AND CENTRAL KANSAS.  THE WIND SHOULD SETTLE
DOWN THIS EVENING.  TEMPERATURES WILL BE WELL ABOVE NORMAL.
ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP LATE THIS
AFTERNOON MAINLY FROM EASTERN COLORADO INTO NORTHWESTERN KANSAS AND
WESTERN AND CENTRAL NEBRASKA.  THE STORMS WILL DECREASE DURING THE
MID TO LATE EVENING.

HIGH TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER 70S IN
FAR EASTERN KANSAS TO THE LOWER AND MID 80S ELSEWHERE.  LOWS TONIGHT
WILL BE MAINLY IN THE 50S.
