REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS
925 PM CDT FRI MAY 01 2015

AS HIGH CLOUDS WERE OBSERVED ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS THIS AFTERNOON,
THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED ACROSS THE COLORADO FRONT RANGE AND MOVED
EAST INTO THE HIGH PLAINS. THE PRIMARY THREAT FROM THESE STORMS WERE
HAIL AND DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. AS THE EVENING
PROGRESSED, THESE STORMS WERE MAKING THEIR WAY TO THE KANSAS BORDER.
HIGHS TODAY TOPPED OUT INTO THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S FROM EASTERN
COLORADO INTO CENTRAL KANSAS.

UPPER LEVEL RIDGING OVER THE DESERT SOUTHWEST AND ADJACENT SOUTHERN
PLAINS WILL INCH FARTHER EAST TONIGHT. MEANWHILE, SURFACE TROUGHING
ALONG THE COLORADO AND KANSAS BORDER WILL SHOW LITTLE INTEREST IN
MOVING EAST THROUGH SATURDAY. THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR
THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING. THE BEST CHANCE WILL BE ACROSS EXTREME
WESTERN KANSAS. MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND BREEZY CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED ON SATURDAY WITH SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES.

LOWS TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 40S IN NORTHEASTERN COLORADO TO
THE MID 50S IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS. HIGHS ON SATURDAY WILL RANGE
FROM THE UPPER 70S IN EASTERN COLORADO TO THE MID 80S IN
SOUTHWESTERN KANSAS.
